 VBS meeting on Tuesday June 5th, 2018 at 5PM!! Decoration pow-wow on May 18th at 10AM.

    Hello, all! We had such a great time on Children's and Youth Sunday. I have heard a lot of great feedback and all the kids and youth did so awesome. 
Thank you again  for the help. 

Upcoming things to know:

      I am trying to work out attending a fellow Methodist Church this Sunday, May 13th, as we are planning an exciting opportunity in family ministry here at LRUMC. The kids will all go upstairs as usual, and the youth will attend service with their families. In advance I want to say that I hope all of you have a FANTASTIC and peace-filled Mother's Day. 

     The following Sunday, May 20th is communion, so all kids will start out in the service and we will leave after the Children's message. The middle school youth will be going to check out the hand bells while we are having our lesson. However, if you have a fourth or fifth grader who is interested in hand bells, please let me know. I will arrange for them to participate with the youth. 

      Also, on May 20th, we will have our first combined Youth and Children's council meeting at 11 AM. This will be followed at 12 PM for a 20 minute meeting for anyone interested in LRUMC's first International Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic in July of 2018. You must be 14 years of age by July to go, but there is no one to old! We will be doing construction, evangelism, and VBS. There will be a 40 dollar commitment for signing up for the mission trip (which will go towards the overall cost). We will be doing fundraisers over this next year. If you cannot attend one or either of the meetings but want to take part, let me know and I will get you information. 

On June 3rd I will be doing the message at the 11 AM service, while our pastor is travelling to annual conference. Kathy Devine and I would love to have youth and children involved in the service. Please let me know if your child/youth could be available to help that day. We need readers, ushers, greeters, prayer basket carriers, and welcome-guest-bread-givers. We will also be having a pool party at Preston Taylor's house on this day from 2pm until 4 pm!

JULY: We will have mission camp from the 9th to the 13th. We will then be going to Jellystone from the 13th to the 15th. Families are welcome! Camp is $30 during the week. Jellystone is 50 dollars for the weekend.The cost for the camp and Jellystone is 80 dollars.  See me if you are in need of a scholarship.
